Why choose Florence?
If you love history or Renaissance art, this is where it all began. Florence is a city of culture par excellence thanks to its infinite examples of Renaissance splendour, complemented by a number of contemporary painting, sculpture, cinema and fashion exhibitions and events. It’s an open-air museum and not even locals got used to its timeless beauty yet.
This lively city with its concerts, theatres, clubs, dance and events is also a great place for students to visit for one week or even to study for a long period of time. The city is easily navigable on foot due to its size, making it a fantastic option for those who like to explore beauty in an urban environment on foot. And Florence isn’t known just for its art but also has a long established food scene filled with traditional trattorie, the Central Market, street food, and new and exciting restaurant openings each week. And should you need to get out into the countryside, Florence is but a short distance away from picturesque hilltop towns, trekking and vineyard to visit.
Koinè Center HQ is located in the historical city center, just behind Piazza Santa Croce, in Borgo Santa Croce 17. The street owes the name to the nearby Basilica, the first church built in town by the Franciscan and later become the “temple of Italian glories” such as Michelangelo, Galileo, Foscolo, Machiavelli, Rossini etc. who are buried there.
