Italian Lessons in Florence and Tuscany, Bologna: Koinè Italian Language School

Italian Language School, Lessons in Florence and Tuscany

Koinè is an Italian school in Florence offering Italian language lessons of various types. From traditional courses in the classroom to cooking and wine courses, cultural activities and photography and painting courses, Koinè's teaching methods focus on teaching the spoken Italian language so that you can learn how to navigate through daily life in Italy.

Koinè's main center is in Florence, but our Italian school is also in Bologna and other cities in Tuscany, in Lucca, Cortona, and the Island of Elba. Learning Italian in Florence and taking an Italian course in Florence is an experience like no other: a city full of cultural splendor and its past, with its medieval and Renaissance architecture and monuments as well as contemporary exhibitions of painting, sculpture, cinema, and fashion.

The Koinè Center is headquartered in the historic center of Florence, between Piazza Duomo and Piazza Santa Croce on Via de' Pandolfini. Many popular bars and restaurants can be found in this area, and the University of Florence and the largest public libraries in the city are within walking distance.

The Italian language school has a partnership with a downtown bar/restaurant to offer students breakfast and lunch at reduced prices. The school offers fax and email service in the school office, and an Internet point for students to use with a card (sold in the school office). Upon arrival, students receive a folder with activities and excursions for the month, a small guide and list of exhibitions and cultural events taking place in Florence.

Italian Language School, Lessons in Bologna

italian language institute in italy Our Italian school in Bologna is right in the center of the city, which is one of Italy's major cultural centers. Home to one of the oldest and most famous universities of medicine, the city bustles with students of all ages and offers old bookshops full of character, publishing houses and skilled bookbinders. Yet the historic center maintains much of its original layout. Particularly attractive are its many arcades, which allow pedestrians to move quickly and safely around the center. Bologna remains outside the main tourist circuit, and its residents are happy to give their attention to anyone coming from abroad. The Bolognesi are proud of their cultural heritage and do not miss a chance to point out the most interesting aspects of their daily life, especially the food.

Thanks to our collaboration with the cultural association L'Arca, Koinè offers Italian lessons in Bologna in a palazzo located in the centre of the university quarter. On the first day of the course each participant will receive a folder containing a list of cultural activities and excursions, a guide with useful addresses and a map of the city. The Italian language classes are formed from 3 to 8 students for each level. At the end of the course each student will receive (upon request) a certificate of attendance which specifies the length of the course and the student’s level of proficiency in the language.
