Koinè offers group Italian language classes in 5 different levels, each with its own teaching methods designed for that language level, from beginning Italian courses to intermediate and advanced as well as intensive Italian courses in Florence, Cortona, Lucca, Elba and Bologna.

Beginning Italian Course in Florence

beginning italian in florence On the first day of a course, participants who already have some knowledge of Italian will take a written and oral placement test. Depending on the results, students will be placed in classes that range from basic, beginning, intermediate, advanced or specialized level.

Classes are organized in small groups, from 4 to a maximum of 12 students. Classes generally take place for 4 hours a day in the mornings, from Monday through Friday for a total of 20 hours a week.

The group course is our most common requested Italian language class. Within a class of no more than 12 students, you will be learning Italian through guided conversation exchanges with other students from all over the world.
The classes concentrate on the spoken language that you will encounter in daily life in Italy. The Koinè method involves active participation in conversations, dialogues, games, and class readings.

Intermediate Italian Course in Florence

New classes at all levels begin every 2 weeks in Florence. Mornings are spent in the classroom, but in the afternoons many art, cultural, and gastronomic activities are available. Your beginning or intermediate Italian language course fee includes a welcoming party in a Florentine Enoteca (wine bar) and a tour of the city center. You can use afternoons to explore Florence and weekends to discover Tuscany. It is easy to travel by train in Italy and Pisa, Siena, Lucca and many other Tuscan towns are within a few hours traveling time.

intermediate italian courses in florence In order to take better organize your trip to Tuscany, take into account that Italian language courses are offered all year round at our centers in Florence, Lucca and Bologna. Beginning Italian classes start on scheduled dates while intermediate and advanced level students can start classes on Mondays.

Fees include classroom materials, certificate of attendance and value-added tax (VAT) of 10 percent. A discount will be given for any second and subsequent courses.

Intensive Italian Course in Florence

Individual intensive Italian language lessons are offered for those with a personal or professional interest in the Italian language and with time restrictions. You may select a specific focus, such as Italian for economics, business, medicine, banking, history, art or architecture.

Our Intensive Italian courses in Italy last a minimum of one week (Monday to Friday), with a minimum of 2 hours a day. Structured lessons can be organized up to 8 hours per day, depending on the individual student's needs. A 6 or 8 hour-long course would be divided into 2 parts (morning and afternoon sessions) and taught by 2 different teachers, and the 8 hour course would also include a conversational lunch with one of the teachers.

For greater student convenience, Koinè Center has introduced flexible schedules and prices for the Individual Intensive Lessons at the students' homes too. Starting dates can be arranged for any every working day of the year.

Students who participate in the group Italian language courses in the morning can also supplement their learning with one-on-one afternoon lessons of two hours with a teacher where students have the chance to address any particular learning problems and cover specific interests.

This kind of program enables you to get a grasp of general linguistic notions through the group morning lessons and use the afternoon lesson to go over and clear up any doubts on linguistic terminology and the morning's lesson.
